Dream Debut for Frank Longstaff of Richardsons-Trek

Dream Debut........ In only his first month as a Senior, 18 year old Frank Longstaff has picked up his first National medal at the National Track Championships in Manchester !!

After suffering a mechanical in the points race on Saturday, he bounced back to take a fantastic second place and the silver medal in the final event of the weekend, the prestigious 40 km scratch race, narrowly being beaten by 100%Me rider Ethan Hayter. After 40 kms of full on racing, the bunch was still intact and all still on the same lap, Frank took the initiative and lead the field out in the charge for the line and was narrowly beaten by the GB rider as they lunged for the line

To put things in context, Frank made the move from sprint to endurance riding only 18 months ago and had to sacrifice his GB backing to make this brave decision. With limited time to prepare for the track and using the Nationals as part of his preparation for his first U23 season on the road, Frank showed just how much talent he really has and what great potential he has for the future.

A massive congratulations from the team, you've done the orange jersey proud already and with the road season just round the corner the lads can't wait to build on Franks momentum.
